I have always been an 'artsy' type, trying out lots of different crafts over the years.
My love for silversmithing was born during lockdown. Armed with my first hammer and blow torch I made myself a silver ring and from there I was hooked!
I watched many a tutorial online and YouTube video. I practiced, bought more tools and soon I built up the confidence to make more intricate designs.
Fast forward and Hetty's Hut was born. I love my job and I hope my passion shows in the pieces I make.
My jewellery is made from Sterling and Fine Silver and on occassion I get to work with little pieces of gold. I particularly enjoy making chunky designs and using repurposed materials such as Fordite, Surfite and Pool ball cores in my work when I can.
I am registered with Edinburgh Assay Office and the Guild of Jewellery Designers.
I will be adding to my knowledge this year having enrolled with the Jewellers Academy to obtain my Diploma. I intend to implement the new skills I develop here into the jewellery designs I make. Looking forward to taking you on this journey with me.
Love Hetty x
